It’s only 3 p.m. and I’ve already had the best day 🙂
I met the girls at 11 a.m. for our first half marathon long training run! (Check out my training plan in this post). Exciting.
We had 6 miles on the docket for this morning. It was super sunny, about 45 degrees, and we were ready to rock. Yay! I missed this beautiful NC sunshine 🙂
We had a great run — we ran all around Carrboro and Chapel Hill, including one super long gradual hill. Anytime one of us felt super tired, we gave each other pep talks. I love having training buddies 🙂
Splits:
And I swapped half my burrito for half of my friend Steph’s breakfast — she had the open faced biscuit topped with egg, turkey, tomato, and cheddar. Amaaaaazing. I need to eat biscuits more often I think. I mean, I AM in the south 🙂
Yum. What perfect post-long run fuel! We had so much fun we decided we’re going to make doing brunch after our long Saturday runs a tradition, trying a new place each time. A brunch tour of Chapel Hill and Carrboro, if you will. Sweet! I’m excited because I miss going out to eat — I used to go out a lot with friends in DC, but none of us here at school have any money so we don’t usually go out. This will be a fun way to explore some of the local eateries without spending a ton of money (brunch is way cheaper than dinner + drinks!). Plus, it’s great motivation to run faster when we all know a delicious meal awaits us! 😉
I’m off to the mall to use my gift cards. Have a great Saturday!
p.s. Anyone else watching Miss America tonight? I am because I have to cheer on my girl Miss Vermont! Remember when I met her?!
